To date, the show has donated nearly $70,000 to various alpaca-related charities and causes, providing over $30,000 in support to the Alpaca Research Foundation (ARF).


The Great Midwest Alpaca Festival Scholarship Fund was established at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 to provide opportunities for students hands-on camelid experience.

Nicole Monique Van Abel is the recipient of the 2009-2010 Great Midwest Alpaca Festival Scholarship & Award at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.
